CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, July 16 (PIA)–-Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade unveiled the newly-built electronic gate complex of the Cagayan de Oro Port on Monday, July 15, to provide comfort, convenience, safety and security to all port users shipping and withdrawing cargoes to and from the port.

The gate complex was built to address the long queuing lines at the entry point and ensure that the delivery, transport and loading of cargoes will be more efficient and reduce the staying time of vessels in the port.

The six-lane gate complex will also relieve the traffic congestion along the access roads towards the cargo gates which causes undue delays in the delivery, transport and loading of cargoes.

The newly-built gate complex is equipped with CCTV cameras for easy identification and security purposes, weighbridges, and electronic payment system.

Moreover, it has separate gate designated as a portal for over size/heavy lift cargoes.

Tugade said the PPA will also install scanners so that the inspection of the cargoes will be done through a machine.

In this way, the inspection is made more reliable and transparent.
